My oh my how time flies when you're having fun ;) this was in 2012 that I spent this wonderful time in Napier ... and fell in love with New Zealand :) ... The Hawkes' Bay of New Zealand ... with it's own delightful climate ... also making it extremely popular for destination weddings. It is the Art Deco capital, celebrated by the annual Art Deco Weekend in February, where truly, you feel transported back in time to the opulent 1930's . Hop on the Hawkes Bay Express for a fun and informative tour of the town and it's surrounds. The Hawke's Bay boasts an abundance of boutique wine estates, making it a must for wine connoisseurs! Consider hiring a chauffeur driven vintage or classic car to take a winery tour in style! The charming old fishing village of Ahuriri is so close by, one would think it is part of Napier. A network of well maintained cycling paths run through the region, and bicycle hire is also easily arranged. If in doubt of what to go see and do, just stop off at the visitors' information center on Marine Parade, and you will realise that in this area, you really are spoiled for choice! Go on a tour of the old prison, or head up Temata Peak on the back of a SuperTrike for the thrill of the wind in your hair and the reward of incredible vistas at the top. Or visit the Gannet Colony at Cape Kidnappers, where you will of course also find one of the world's top golf courses. Napier is a popular cruise destination, and tourism plays a vital role to the economy of this wonderful town in the Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
